Buy As You View funds St Mary's FC Kit
January 11, 2011
A Buy As You View employee has benefitted from the generosity of his employers, who have treated his Sunday league football team with a cash donation of over £600.
Cannock’s St Mary’s FC are sporting a new kit thanks to the leading Midlands retail and consumer finance company and are also on their way to getting new training tops too.
Chris Lloyd has worked for Buy As You View for five months and, in his spare time, manages and occasionally plays in midfield for the Chase Sunday League team.
He said: “Our previous kit was more than a little bit shabby. We haven’t had a new kit since our first season of playing. We’ve had second hand kits before but a brand new one like this is great for the boys’ morale. The first Sunday they played in it, they played better than usual. I don’t know if it was a fluke, but they played really well, though sadly didn’t win!”
The team’s new strip and drill tops cost £500 and Chris is putting the rest of the donation aside towards buying new training tops for his team, which is funded by membership fees and donations like this one from Buy As You View.
Chris said: “Working for Buy As You View, I knew about their Community Fund and how it helps people. I thought it was worth asking if they could help us too. I really enjoy working for the company and they didn’t let us down with this generous donation.”
Buy As You View marketing director, John Smith said: “As a growing company, Buy As You View is always keen to award employees for their hard work. To be able to help Chris as well as the local community through donating to his local football team is very rewarding indeed. At Buy As You View we take community engagement very seriously and we try to be part of the communities that we are in where the faces of our colleagues are well known.”
