Buy As You View Employee of the Year Accolade

Gareth Griffiths of Penrhys, Rhondda has been named Employee of the Year by Buy As You View. The service and distribution manager saw off competition from 11 other employees to win the overall annual award.

Gareth joined Buy As You View, aged 16 years old in 1994 as part of the warehouse team. In the last 17 years, Gareth has progressed from the warehouse shop floor to become on of the company’s top performing regional operations managers. He picked up his award at a dinner held for the finalists at the Vale Hotel & Golf Resort.

Gareth comments: “I’m over the moon to have won the Employee of the Year prize. I’ve always enjoyed working at Buy As You View and have learned so much along the way, it’s the icing on the cake to be recognised in this way. The operations team is more of a family than a business and I am grateful to those around me who continue to motivate me on a daily basis.”

He is a valued member of the team and is well respected by his colleagues and peers. Although based in South Wales, he frequently helps other regions, often at short notice and displays a positive attitude at all times. Gareth is also instrumental in mobilising the team to raise money for charity, having recently climbed Pen y Fan for Breast Cancer Care, he is now planning his next trek.”

As part of the Employee of the Year prize Gareth received £500 in High Street vouchers, a dedicated priority parking space for the year, champagne, chocolates and an additional day’s annual leave. Gareth was one of just 12 employees who had all won Employee of the Month awards to be put forward for the prize. Each month Buy As You View welcomes nominations from all departments as well as customers for outstanding colleagues who regularly go the extra mile to improve the customer experience and the working environment.
