Environmental Policy

green

Buy As You View have recently made siginificant efforts to reduce our Carbon footprint, keeping in line with the government's policy.

We have switched our fleet of 600 company cars to the environmentally friendly Corsa Eco to help us reduce our Carbon footprint.

We have also invested £90,000 in a special route planning system designed by Paragon to provide our customers with a greener home delivery service.

Without the support of the communities we serve, Buy As You View would not be the success we are today. We strongly believe that it is our duty to do what we can for the local communities we serve. We therefore aim to reduce our Carbon footprint in these communities.

Packaging Waste Regulations

In accordance with regulations, our delivery and installation service includes the removal and disposal of the packaging in a environmentally friendly way.

We invest £28,000 each year to lease specialist equipment to help recycle 80% of our packaging. This would otherwise go to landfill.

We will of course leave the product packaged should the customer require it, but we ask that they dispose of the packaging responsibly when the time comes, recognising their own Carbon footprint and their local authority's recycling requirements.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive

Buy As You View complies with all Environmental Legislation relating to the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment. (WEEE)

Buy As You View will collect your old electrical item when delivering a like for like new electrical product and ensure it is disposed of in accordance with Environment Legislation. This can be done by asking the delivery driver of your new product or by telephoning the freephone number on our website page.

Buy As You View encourage its customers to have waste electrical and electronic equipment collected for recycling and/or recovery by Buy As You View rather than dispose of it in their household bins.

Buy As You View also subscribe to a WEEE compliance scheme which conforms to the Environment Protection Act 1990. Visit www.weeecollect.com for details.

In this way Buy As You View contributes to the reuse, recycling and recovery of waste electrical and electronic products, and prevents potential hazardous effects on the environment and human health as a result of the presence of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

It is important to remember the wheelie bin symbol that electrical and electronic products must not be put in with normal household waste and taken to landfill where it can contaminate the soil and the environment.
